We are still here! I apologize for the terrible delay in updates, pictures, notifications, etc... Life has become very busy!
New pictures are on their way! So keep posted.
We have been been working very diligently on the home renovations to get the house on the market. I took off a wk in July and finished painting inside and out, refinished a wood floor in the hall and several other odd jobs. We are a few wks away now from calling our realtor and putting a sign in the front yard! We are so excited. Although saying goodbye to the old place will be hard on some in the family, we look forward to new opportunities and new beginnings.
Darrell has been working sooo hard this summer at the golf course and we have experienced record high temps this summer. But isn't that every summer in Oklahoma?!? It has been tough but we are hopeful the heat will break soon.
We have visited the new baseball field, ONEOK Field, in Tulsa a few times this summer and even took my dad there for his birthday. It has been our favorite summer getaway this year, besides the occasional trip to the swimming pool. Carson is swimming without floaties this year and can swim across the pool now. Of course, you can imagine he wants to go swimming every day.
The boys attended First Bapt Church Day Camp this summer headed up by my nephew, Corey. It was a great experience. They can't wait to go back next summer.
We had some very heartwarming news this summer as well. Kanyon gave his heart to Jesus at VBS and is planning to be baptized soon. He has also been attending the Skate Church at FBC with Corey and seems to really enjoy it. For his birthday this year he recieved his first "real" skateboard. Its very cool and very special since Corey designed it and built it.
More misc info: School is starting soon. Kanyon is playing football this year and games start very soon. Carson will play Upward Basketball with Darrell coaching again this year.
And I have my 20 year class reunion this fall!
We feel so fortunate to have our loving family and friends around us to support us. Thank goodness for tight-nit families and friends!
Love to you all,
the Smarts
